Fakhar Zaman Sets Multiple PSL Records

Fakhar Zaman added another major chapter to his Pakistan Super League (PSL) career after scoring a brilliant match-winning century for Lahore Qalandars against Quetta Gladiators at Gaddafi Stadium.

The left-hander smashed 103 off 51 balls, hitting 11 fours and six sixes, as Lahore posted 197-6 in their 20 overs. It was his third hundred in the league and another landmark knock in an already impressive tournament career.

With that innings, Fakhar Zaman joined an elite group of batters with three PSL centuries. The list also includes Usman Khan, Kamran Akmal, Rilee Rossouw and Babar Azam.

He also became the first batter in PSL history to score 1,000 runs at the Lahore venue, Babar is next on the list with 784 runs.

Fakhar’s latest century also strengthened his position among the league’s leading run-scorers. He is now second on the all-time PSL runs chart with 3,246 runs in 103 matches.

His record in the competition now includes 25 fifties and three centuries, while maintaining a strike rate of 143.43.

The innings against Quetta once again showed Fakhar’s value at the top of the order, with the left-hander controlling the tempo before accelerating sharply through the middle overs.

Charith Asalanka also chipped in with 31 off 24 balls, while Daniel Sams added 18 off 12 late in the innings, but it was Fakhar’s knock that defined Lahore’s total.

In the end Lahore Qalandars won the must-win game against Quetta Gladiators in the PSL 11 with Fakhar Zaman declared Man of the Match.
