Mohammad Rizwan has matched an unwanted Pakistan Super League (PSL) record after registering his sixth duck as captain, drawing level with Shaheen Afridi for the most ducks by a skipper in the tournament’s history.
The latest setback came in RawalPindiz’s 32-run defeat to Lahore Qalandars, a result that extended the side’s losing run to seven matches in PSL 11.

Rizwan’s dismissal added to a difficult campaign for both the captain and his team, with the wicketkeeper-batter later admitting that his own performances have not been good enough this season.
Speaking after the match, Rizwan accepted responsibility and said he had fallen short of expectations, while also stressing that players go through difficult periods.
He said he remains confident of bouncing back, recalling that he had previously taken a step back from T20 cricket to work on his game and return stronger.
Rizwan also explained why he was not keeping wickets in the match, saying the team management wanted him closer to the younger players on the field, particularly to guide fast bowler Razaullah.
Despite the poor run of results, he pointed to a few positives in the squad and named Abdullah Fazal and Saad Masood as players with encouraging potential. He added that while some gaps remain in the side, there are still signs of promise for the future.
The defeat left RawalPindiz without a win after seven games, turning Rizwan’s personal slump into another symbol of a campaign that has continued to unravel.
With six ducks as captain, Rizwan now shares the unwanted PSL record with Shaheen Afridi, while Wahab Riaz and Imad Wasim sit next on the list with four each.
