Quetta Gladiators Sign Sri Lankan Star as Replacement for PSL 11

Quetta Gladiators have signed Sri Lankan veteran Dinesh Chandimal for the remainder of the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) after Bevon Jacobs left the tournament to join New Zealand’s national squad.

Jacobs has been called up for New Zealand’s upcoming T20I series against Bangladesh, which begins on April 27. The right-handed batter featured in three matches during his first PSL season and scored 52 runs, including an unbeaten 49 against Multan Sultans.

To fill the gap, Quetta have turned to Dinesh Chandimal, who is expected to arrive in Pakistan later today and join the squad straight away.

The experienced wicketkeeper-batter is already familiar with the franchise. He made a short appearance for Quetta in the previous season, where he played three matches and scored 87 runs, including an unbeaten 48.

Chandimal also brings strong international experience. He has represented Sri Lanka in 69 T20Is and scored 1,066 runs, with six half-centuries to his name.

He was also part of Sri Lanka’s title-winning squad at the 2014 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, giving Quetta an experienced option for the business end of the tournament.

Quetta Gladiators are currently fifth on the PSL 11 points table, with two wins from six matches.
