An insider source has revealed that Sarah Ferguson is keeping her whereabouts hidden from even those at the top of the ladder, including the King.
The former duchess has been in hiding since the US Department of Justice began releasing the Epstein files on December 19, 2025.
Ms Ferguson is named countless times in the files, with many email correspondences believed to be from her, or sent on her behalf.

Sensing the scandal that was to come, Ms Ferguson fled her typical public lifestyle, as revelations about her own connection to convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein were cast into the light.
Early reports indicated she first went to the UAE before tucking herself away at a luxury wellness retreat in Zurich, Switzerland, but fresh sources have revealed the ex-duchess’ true evasion capabilities.
Established royal insider Rob Shuter spoke to a source who revealed that neither King Charles nor Prince William know where Ms Ferguson currently is.
“No one knows exactly where she is,” one source told Mr Shuter’s Substack Naughty But Nice. “And that includes the very top.”
But the insider said there was one thing both the public and the royal family should be certain of.
“She’s not someone who disappears for good,” they said. “She always comes back.”
“She loves London, she loves society, and she loves attention. That hasn’t changed.”
Like many other sources, this one has said Ms Ferguson is planning her comeback and knows that “timing is everything”.
Though it seems the obvious move to lie low for a while, the source said the fact that people closest to Ms Ferguson don’t know where she is, is what is fuelling speculation.
“There’s real uncertainty about how much Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie know,” the insider said. “They may not have the full picture either.”
Some commentators believe that the rift between Ms Ferguson and her princess daughters has only deepened as the scandal has continued.
The princesses watched as their mother and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor were booted from the Royal Lodge in early February, just weeks before their father was arrested and questioned on the suspicion of misconduct in public office.

Prior to the release of the Epstein files, it had been thought that Ms Ferguson’s connection to the disgraced financier was more because of her continuing close relationship to Mr Mountbatten-Windsor even after their 1996 divorce.
But the files revealed that Ms Ferguson had referred to Epstein as a “friend”, “brother” and “pillar”.
They also suggested that she and her daughters visited Epstein in New York in 2009 after he was released from prison. At the time, Beatrice was 21-years-old while Eugenie was 19-years-old.
The February fallout saw six businesses associated with Ms Ferguson shut down, alongside her charity Sarah’s Trust.
Ms Ferguson last attended a public event in December 2025 for the christening of Beatrice’s second daughter.
Mr Mountbatten-Windsor has faced immense public scrutiny for years over his relationship with Epstein, but the scandal worsened with the release of Virginia Giuffre’s posthumous memoir in early October 2025.
Weeks later, Charles stripped his brother of his princely title, and it was decided that he would be booted from the Lodge to Sandringham.
It took months for Mr Mountbatten-Windsor’s first move to Wood Farm to finally come to fruition, and until last week for his final move to Marsh Farm to be completed.
The former prince reportedly kicked up a fuss at just about every turn, with Prince Edward stepping in for a quiet word days before the final move.
Though Mr Mountbatten-Windsor has always denied any wrongdoing in relation to Epstein, and though he has not been charged by police, the royal family have put him under bail like conditions.
It is understood he is not allowed to leave his home without the King’s permission.
Insiders say though Ms Ferguson stuck by his side for decades, it is very unlikely she would ever live with Mr Mountbatten-Windsor ever again.
