PCB Fines Quetta Gladiators Player for Breaching Code of Conduct During PSL 11

Quetta Gladiators star Jahandad Khan has been fined 10 percent of his match fee for a Level 1 breach of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel during the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL 11).

The incident occurred in Quetta Gladiators’ match against RawalPindiz on Friday night at the National Bank Stadium.

Jahandad was found to have violated Article 2.5 of the PSL Code of Conduct, which relates to using language, actions, or gestures that could disparage or provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter following a dismissal.

The all-rounder admitted the offense, which was reported by on-field umpires Sharafuddoula and Imran Jawed, and accepted the sanction imposed by match referee Roshan Mahanama.

The incident took place on the second delivery of the 18th over in the second innings. Jahandad bowled a slower bouncer, and Saad Masood attempted an upper cut toward the boundary. However, the shot resulted in a catch, leading to his dismissal.

After taking the wicket, Jahandad made a subtle gesture by placing a finger on his lips while signaling the batter to leave the field with his other hand. The two players briefly exchanged words, but the situation did not escalate, as Jahandad quickly joined his teammates to celebrate.

Speaking to the media after the match, Jahandad denied any negative intent behind his actions, saying it was just a heat-of-the-moment reaction and that the batter is a close friend.

“No, it’s nothing like that. He’s a very good friend of mine. I think you only saw the sign — you didn’t see the context of the play. He’s a good friend of mine. It was just in the heat of the moment,” he said.
