PSL 2026: Peshawar Zalmi Beat Hyderabad Kingsmen by 4 Wickets in Last-Ball Thriller

Peshawar Zalmi held their nerve to beat Hyderabad Kingsmen by four wickets in a dramatic last-ball finish in the 15th match of Pakistan Super League 2026 in Karachi on April 8. Chasing 146, Zalmi got over the line at 146 for 6, with Iftikhar Ahmed finishing unbeaten on 15 off 10 after a tense final over.

The match belonged to Iftikhar long before he hit the winning runs. The all-rounder produced a decisive spell of 4 for 21 to help bowl Hyderabad out for 145, while Sufiyan Muqeem also played a major role with 4 for 32. Hyderabad looked in trouble at 34 for 4 before Kusal Perera’s 58 and an 82-run stand with Marnus Labuschagne gave them a platform, but the innings unravelled badly as they lost their last five wickets for just nine runs.

Zalmi’s chase started brightly, with 56 runs coming in the powerplay. Babar Azam top-scored with 43, while Kusal Mendis added 27, but Hyderabad fought back through Saim Ayub and Hassan Khan to drag the game deep and leave Zalmi needing 14 off the final over.

That was when Iftikhar stepped in again. He struck a boundary and a six off Hunain Shah in the 20th over, then kept his composure as Zalmi scrambled the winning run off the final ball to seal their second win of the season. For Hyderabad Kingsmen, it was another painful result, with the side still searching for its first victory after four matches.
