What’s new in Greater Boston restaurant openings this week

Bey

From hot plates like beef and lamb pita pockets with grilled jalapeño to cold comforts like fattoush salad with zippy pomegranate-lemon vinaigrette, newcomer Bey brings vibrant Lebanese fare to the South End. The latest spot from the Samaha family, who also own West Roxbury’s Al Wadi and two locations of Nicole’s Pizza, bring the pals to savor a sprawling menu of hot and cold mezze, plus kebabs and a handful of entrees, including grilled branzino. Dig into hummus served the “Bey Way,” with beef tenderloin, pine nuts, and pomegranate molasses. Cocktails boast bold flavors—check out that Tabbouleh Negroni with parsley oil—with wine, and zero-proof cocktails and wines on offer, too.

Open Now (May)

280 Shawmut Ave., South End

Buitoni Spaghetti Bar

You’ve passed the spaghetti boxes a million times in the supermarket, and come next year, you can settle into Buitoni’s new restaurant in Kenmore Square. Tuscan Brands—the Salem, New Hampshire-based company behind Tuscan Kitchen, Sorella, and other concepts—is the new owner of the beloved pasta company, which will pack pasta-piled plates into the former Eastern Standard space. Given its location right next to Fenway, fare will lean more casual. Expect to belly up to the pasta bar for giant meatballs, fresh pasta, lasagna, slow-stewed sauces, and more.

Opening date: 2027

528 Commonwealth Ave., Fenway-Kenmore

The Exchange

If there’s a filet-sized hole in your heart since Boston Urban Hospitality closed its two Boston Chops steakhouses earlier this year, fear not. NNE Hospitality Group is opening a concept in the former downtown Chops space. While details are scant, NNE currently owns The Puddle Dock—a modern colonial cuisine concept—and “indoor country club,” TOUR, both in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

In the meantime, check out BUH’s still-running Deuxave for French fare (and a killer martini) and Dbar in Dorchester for global plates and buzzy nightlife.

Kowloon Tiki on the Beach

For those of us who love Kowloon’s Chinese-American eats paired with Polynesian cocktails and vibrant interiors (who are we kidding, that’s everyone), June just got a little more joyous. Kowloon Tiki on the Beach—little sibling to the sprawling Saugus location—just opened this week in Revere. Yes, find all your favorites, like the crispy General Gau chicken and classic wings. But new beauties book a first-class trip right to the tropics, with seared tuna bites kicked up by pineapple furikake, Spam fried rice served alongside pineapple-soy chicken, and pineapple upside cake as a tropical-fruit hat-trick for dessert. Toast to the summer within the 115-seat dining room, or out on the 60-person patio, where you can drink up tropical concoctions and views of the beach and Broad Sound.

Bonus: High Tea After Party

Boston’s Pride celebrations are fashionably early this year because of the World Cup. After the annual parade this Saturday, chef and restauranteur Tiffani Faison and her crew are hosting a sunshine-filled soiree on the CitizenM rooftop. Head to Bubble Bath Back Bay to cheers with Champagne, savor caviar and other bites, and boogie to beats by DJ L’Duke—all set against some of the most beautiful views in the city. There’s no cover, but make sure to bring your ID.

Event details: 2-6 p.m., Saturday, June 6

Bubble Bath Back Bay, 408 Newbury St., Back Bay
