Before 3 p.m., Massachusetts State Police, Marlborough Fire, and EMS responded to a serious, multi-car crash on I-290 East in Marlborough, State Police said in a statement to Boston.com.
Two people died in the crash, State Police said. No further information about the crash or the victims has been released.
The Solomon Pond Road exit on I-290 East ahead of I-495 was closed to traffic Monday evening, according to Marlborough police and MassDOT. Drivers are encouraged to use an alternate route if possible and to expect significant delays and heavier-than-usual traffic.
