Barro

In Mexican communities, barro has carried deep cultural significance for generations. Translating to ‘clay’ in English, it was traditionally used across Mexico and wider Latin America by Indigenous communities to cook and serve food, from handmade plates to the comal used to heat tortillas. That history is part of the soul behind Adelaide’s newest Mexican restaurant, Barro.

Brooki Bakehouse
Brisbane-born cookie brand, Brooki Bakehouse, is finally coming to Adelaide, and this time it’s permanent.
Landing in the Adelaide Airport, the busy travel hub has been lucky enough to be home to South Australia’s first Brooki Bakehouse which hosted a temporary kiosk earlier in the year at Westfield Marion, with metre-long lines.

Caramella
Hutt St’s newest café has just opened its doors, and dare we say, the proof is in the pastry. Caramella Patisserie is bringing decades of baking experience to its new location, and a busy opening weekend has proved that when the words ‘European baking’, ‘artisanal pastries’ and ‘Greek delicacies’ are uttered, Adelaidians’ ears prick up.

Hounds of Strath and Bonce Hair Boutique
If it’s long been a dream to walk into a salon get you hair done, all while your pooch is next door undergoing the same pampering, then this new Strathalbyn venue is what you’ve been missing.
Located on the outer edge of the Adelaide Hills, Bonce Hair Boutique and Hounds of Strath, come together creating the ultimate doggy day resort and hairdresser.

Kombi Crew
One vintage Kombi van has spent the past several years making its way around South Australia, serving warm coffees, cold cocktails and everything in between.
That van soon became two, with Kombi Crew building a strong reputation as a mobile coffee and bar service. Now, the family-run business has parked up at Tonsley, opening headquarters inside the newly developed Thrive Tonsley precinct.

Le Mistral
Say bonjour to Rundle Street’s newest addition, Le Mistral – a warm, intimate venue that’s shaping up to be the perfect place for a mid-week knock-off or cosy date night that’ll have you seeing la vie en rose.
Brought to Adelaide by owners Matthieu Mioche and Christopher Richards, Le Mistral is all about bringing the French traditions they grew up with to our streets.

The wait is finally over. Midday Eatery has landed in the inner west, and it didn’t take long before it became a spot locals visit and keep coming back to as part of their lunchtime rhythm.

Adelaide’s CBD got a little more pink this month as the international sensation welcomed hundreds of heart-eyed tea lovers. During opening weekend, Molly Tea welcomed eager locals to the venue, each clamouring to get their hands on the limited edition, Adelaide exclusive, pink mug reserved for the first 200 customers.

Mutya’s
A Filipino mother’s journey from cooking and selling food in the Philippines to building a family business in Adelaide will be celebrated through a new restaurant opening on Rundle Street.
Husband-and-wife owners, Cielo and Christian Velasquez are putting the final touches on Mutya’s, a contemporary Filipino restaurant from the family behind Pooraka favourite, 118 Kovenant Café & Restaurant.

A fourth Mylk Bar hub has officially opened in Hindmarsh, making it easy for soccer fans and concertgoers to grab pre-entertainment drinks or a post-show feed.

Poster Boy Bar

Located on Gilbert Place, Poster Boy Bar may be the new spot where Friday night drinks turn into, “Let’s hit the dance floor.” The new multi-level bar offers city views, cocktails, music on vinyl and midnight conversations.
Poster Boy was created around the idea that the best nights are often the ones that are not planned. They are the nights that begin with “just one drink” before unexpectedly turning into something much bigger.

Sandwich Philosophy
A graphic designer who taught himself to cook through daily WhatsApp calls with his mum has turned a passion born in a student dorm room into his first permanent Adelaide restaurant.
Shams Rilwan and his wife Rafia Sarwar officially opened Sandwich Philosophy at Welland Plaza on July 10, bringing their menu of globally inspired burgers, loaded fries, and birria tacos to Adelaide’s west.

Sensory House
Adelaide Central Market’s newest multi-sensory space is on a mission to change the way we think about tasting, shopping, and even slowing down, taking customers on a journey of scent, taste and feeling.
Sensory House is a tightly curated stall that combines a cellar door with a bottle shop, apothecary and an intimate eight-seat cocktail bar. But calling it a stall barely does it justice.

The Next Turn
Adelaide sisters Shayla and Lisana, who helped their parents grow CBD favourite Rolls ‘n’ Rice, have opened their own cafe just around the corner on King William Street. The Next Turn combines the family’s much-loved Vietnamese menu with specialty coffee, signature drinks and a bright grab-and-go space designed for busy city workers.
