A two-day yoga training programme was launched on Saturday (June 6, 2026) at the Chandravathi Kalyana Mandapam in Srisailam as part of the ‘Yogandhra’ initiative, ahead of the special yoga event on June 8.
Renowned yoga guru Yogacharya Sri Gandhavalla Balasubrahmanyam from Ongole explained the significance of yoga at the training programme. He guided the participants in meditation, followed by “Sukshma Vyayama” (subtle exercises), and then led the group through “Pranayama” (breathing exercises) and various “Yogasanas” (yoga postures).
In addition to the Devasthanam staff, Shiva Sevaks (volunteers) from various regions participated in the training programme.
Meanwhile, Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple Executive Officer M. Srinivasa Rao said that a special stage is being set up near the Gangadhara Mandapam for the special yoga event on June 8, with arrangements extending from the Gangadhara Mandapam to the Nandi Mandapam.
The temple management is also making arrangements to organise the International Yoga Day event on June 21. A training session will also be held at the Chandravathi Kalyana Mandapam on June 20. He urged locals and pilgrims to utilise the opportunity and participate in the yoga programmes.
