Yet Another Australian Replaces Another Australian in PSL 11

Islamabad United have signed Australian all-rounder Chris Green for Rs. 1.40 crore as a replacement for compatriot Max Bryant ahead of the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL 11).

Max Bryant, an aggressive top-order batter known for his high strike rate and power-hitting ability, was initially picked by Islamabad for Rs. 1.95 crore during the PSL 11 auction. However, Bryant has been ruled out of the tournament due to injury, forcing the franchise to make a late change to their squad.

In response, Islamabad United have turned to Chris Green, a spin-bowling all-rounder with prior PSL experience. Chris Green previously represented Multan Sultans in the 2019 season and returns to the league on the back of strong performances in the latest Big Bash League campaign.

Playing for Sydney Thunder in BBL 15, Chris Green showcased his all-round value, including a match-winning performance against Melbourne Renegades where he smashed three consecutive sixes in a late-innings blitz to secure victory and earn Player of the Match honors.

His ability to contribute with both bat and ball makes him a valuable addition to Islamabad’s squad balance.

This marks yet another instance of Australian players replacing each other in PSL 11 squads. Earlier, Rawalpindiz brought in Usman Khawaja as a replacement for Laurie Evans, continuing a trend of late changes ahead of the season.

The development comes amid a busy transfer window that has seen several major signings across franchises.
