Pedestrian hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after collision with bicyclist near BU campus
Around 9 a.m., a pedestrian, a woman, was struck by a bicyclist near Commonwealth Avenue and Saint Mary’s Street, Boston police said previously.
The pedestrian and cyclist, whose identities have not been released, were both transported to a local hospital, police said. The cyclist sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash but is expected to live, Boston police said Wednesday.
A representative of Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin Hayden told The Boston Globe on Wednesday that the pedestrian’s condition is still critical.
“I heard them collide and I turned around, and I didn’t see the biker hit her, but I saw her falling, and I saw her hit the ground headfirst,” BU junior Ashley Zeissler, who called 911 about the incident, told Boston.com. “It was terrifying to see.”
