A woman and a 6-year-old girl were attacked by a fox in two separate incidents this week in Worcester, resulting in injuries to both, according to the police department.
The first incident happened Wednesday at 8:51 p.m., when a fox bit the 6-year-old girl on Jones Street. She suffered injuries to her leg, arm, and finger.
Then, on Thursday at 9:45 a.m., a woman was bitten by a fox outside an apartment complex on Granite Street. The woman sustained injuries to her foot.
The two incidents occurred about a block apart from one another.
The police department said that both victims were treated at nearby hospitals and released.
A fox was later located and euthanized by the police. It is being sent to the state for rabies testing.
However, the police department said there is no way of knowing whether it was the same fox that injured these two people yet.
