Change.org has taken down a petition calling for Meghan Markle to be removed as host of Channel 10’s Junior MasterChef Australia. It had more than 4,000 signatures in under 24 hours.
A change.org petition calling for the removal of Meghan Markle as the host of Channel 10’s upcoming series of Junior MasterChef has itself been removed by the website after gaining over 4,000 signatures in less than 24 hours.
Earlier this week it was revealed Markle would be coming to Australia for a few weeks to co-host the show, set to air in 2027.

The news came just days after reports that her father, Thomas Markle Senior, was being investigated by the Philippines and the U.S. FBI following allegations of possessing child sexual abuse material.
There are reports Meghan knew about the allegations as far back as 2018, which seems to have led to this petition.

What’s unclear is why the petition is being ‘reviewed’ in the first place.
Is it censorship?
As far as I can tell, there was nothing outrageous in the petition description.

Here is part of the description from the petition;
It’s saddening and disturbing to think that a person directly associated with concerning allegations about being a child abuse enabler is being considered to host a show centered around children.
Meghan Markle’s involvement would send the wrong message to our children, who are learning and growing from the very environment the show seeks to promote. It is imperative that the role of host be filled by someone who embodies the values of trust, integrity, and positivity that Junior Masterchef Australia represents.
Recent controversies and questionable actions associated with Meghan Markle cannot be overlooked. Public figures and media personalities, who hold significant influence over young audiences, should promote ethical conduct and reflect the core values we instill in our children.
Obviously, the person behind this petition is not a fan of Meghan Markle.
Which is fair enough – we live in a democracy.
But why is the petition being censored?
The ‘review’ has been going on since Wednesday – so if it is being reviewed then why is it taking so long?
I’ve tried to contact the media office for change.org to no avail.
There’s something suss going on here… my spidey sensors are tingling.
