A “white granular substance” found on a Boston-bound flight prompted a hazmat response at Logan Airport on Thursday morning, State Police said.

Troopers alongside bomb squad personnel met a Delta Airlines flight at a Terminal E gate after it landed around 6:10 a.m., a State Police spokesperson told Boston.com.

The aircraft, Flight 696, departed from Salt Lake City, Utah, FlightAware shows. There were no injuries on the flight, State Police said.

The substance, discovered in a lavatory on the aircraft, was safely removed and collected as evidence and to conduct further testing, State Police said.

The spokesperson said the character of the substance remains unknown, as of Thursday evening.

Delta did not respond to a request for comment Thursday night.
