The UAE Committee for Talent and Sports Support has partnered with MST Junior Academy to help develop youth sport training in Dubai.
The agreement, made under the patronage of the Ministry of Sports, will support the academy’s plans to open two new summer training centres in the emirate. MST Junior Academy already runs one facility.
UAETSS will also provide sports equipment and training resources as part of the partnership.
The aim is to give more children access to organised sport and professional coaching during the summer months. The programme also ties into the UAE’s Year of the Family, with parents encouraged to take part in the wider academy environment.
Sheikh Suhail bin Butti Al Maktoum, Assistant Undersecretary for the Sports Development and Competitiveness Sector at the Ministry of Sports and Chairman of UAETSS, said the agreement was designed to help sports academies and summer programmes grow.
He said the partnership would support talent identification and help create better training environments for young athletes.
The committee also sees the project working to support local sports evets and increase participation among children and youth.
Ahmed Al Marri, founder of MST Junior Academy, said the academy came from his own experience as a parent.
“The idea of founding the academy stemmed from my own experience as a father, as well as from my lifelong passion for sports that began in the freej.”
“I realised how important it is to offer children a safe and encouraging environment where they can engage in sports and build their abilities from an early age.”
Al Marri said UAETSS support would allow the academy to reach more young athletes and keep sport as a shared space for parents and children.
The partnership comes as the UAE continues to invest in youth sport pathways, with a focus on giving children more structured opportunities to train, compete and stay active.
