The Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup continues its 2026 world tour this weekend, with Morocco hosting the third leg of the UAE-backed series in Rabat.
A total of 179 horses owned by 50 owners from Morocco and overseas will compete at the National Institute for the Horse, Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan Complex, in Dar Es Salam on Saturday.
The event is part of a global programme organised by the UAE to support Arabian horse owners and breeders beyond the Emirates.
Now in its third edition, the series has become one of the UAE’s clearest efforts to take Arabian horse competition to a bigger international audience.
The cup is held under the follow-up of Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad Al Nahyan, Vice Chairman of the Emirates Arabian Horse Society and Chairman of the Higher Organising Committee.
The Morocco leg will include several categories, with colts, fillies, mares and stallions all competing for titles.
The series also carries cultural weight for the UAE. Arabian horses remain closely linked to Emirati and Arab heritage, and the global cup gives the country a visible role in keeping that tradition active through international competition.
The 2026 edition began in Australia on January 30 and 31. Bahrain hosted the second leg on April 25 and 26.
After Rabat, the series is due to move to the United States from September 16 to 19. China will host the fifth leg on October 6 and 7, before Italy stages the sixth leg on November 7 and 8.
Brazil is scheduled to host the final round on November 14.
The Rabat event brings North Africa into this year’s calendar and adds another stop to a series that now spans several continents.
