Day 3 of the 2026 Australian Open shapes as a busy one for Australian viewers, with the 9Network rolling out wall-to-wall coverage as the opening round continues on Tuesday, January 20.
Eight Australians headline the local charge, while defending champions and global stars anchor a packed broadcast schedule across free-to-air and streaming platforms.
Australia’s top-ranked female, Maya Joint, leads the local contingent as she opens the day session, part of a strong run of homegrown talent featured throughout the day. Christopher O’Connell, Dane Sweeny, Taylah Preston, Daria Kasatkina, James Duckworth and Maddison Inglis are also scheduled to take to the court, giving fans plenty of Australian interest from morning through to night.

The night session is led by men’s defending singles champion Jannik Sinner, who begins his 2026 Australian Open campaign with his opening match of the tournament. He is followed on Channel 9 by former champion Naomi Osaka, continuing the strong prime-time focus on established international stars.
Over on 9Now, viewers will also be able to follow the opening matches of Madison Keys, the defending women’s singles champion, along with Stefanos Tsitsipas, Ben Shelton and Elena Rybakina, with the platform once again offering every match from every court live and free.
