Gandhi had loved Dubai since childhood, and it was the only destination she seriously wanted for the celebrations. The final itinerary gave guests a full week across hotels, lunches, music, late nights and ceremonies. But the wedding in Dubai, celebrations begun in Atlanta with a mehendi at with around 550 guests. Gandhi is the first person in her immediate family to get married, and her parents wanted to include the relatives, family friends and community who had watched her grow up. Gandhi wore Sabyasachi, while Abbas wore a green short sherwani by Naushemian with brown Prada loafers.

The welcome lunch at Hilton Al Habtoor included Al Ayalla dancers. Part of the guest experience included welcome boards at the airport, personalised hotel key cards, room signs, mocktails with the couple’s initials and custom oudh boxes engraved with their initials–Gandhi planned out the details.

At the sangeet at Delano Bluewaters, guests walked into LED lighting, sculptural seating and sheesha lounges overlooking the water. Bhaven Dhanak performed live, Dabke dancers joined the celebration, and confetti closed the night. For the sangeet, Gandhi wore House of Nivedita, accessorising with a diamond set with blue stones. Abbas wore a black velvet Giorgio Armani blazer with Christian Louboutin loafers.
