If you’ve spent some time in the Barossa lately, you might well have spotted a vibrant grazing box or inhaled a cookie courtesy of Gertie’s Goodies. The local catering legend, and the creative force behind those jaw-dropping platters, has officially unlocked the doors to her very own brick-and-mortar slice of heaven, and the Barossa is obsessed.

Located at Shop 8/78 Murray Street, Tanunda, the sweet little space launched recently, and it’s been pandemonium ever since.

The brains and baking hands behind the venture, Megan, recently took to socials to thank the community after a wild, whirlwind launch.

It’s been “the kind of busy that fills every bench, every tray, and every corner of the kitchen in the best possible way!” Megan shared.

Now, six years after first launching her business, Megan is finally getting a chance to breathe, refine, and lean into a cosy winter rhythm.

Think of this shop as your ultimate grab-and-go destination for treats, gifts, and last-minute entertaining hacks.

The Platter Pantry is a DIY station stocked with all of Gertie’s Goodies’ ultimate grazing essentials. Barossa Pairings are a brand-new range of packaged goodies specifically designed to complement your favourite local Barossa drop. Then comes Barossa Inspired, a line of treats celebrating local producers. Think Maggie Beer quince paste or decadent white chocolate cookies.

Let’s talk about the cookie cabinet. Naturally, this is the star of the show, perpetually loaded with freshly baked, small-batch decadence. Megan is a self-confessed flavour scientist, constantly experimenting with seasonal combinations. The rotation includes the OG choc chip, Nutella and Biscoff stuffed cookies, and Toblerone shortbread.

And if you’re in the mood to stay a while longer, the Tanunda shop has just launched an epic winter drinks menu leaning into the flavours everyone’s been raving about in 2026. But there’s a twist, it’s all served in the brand new Gertie’s Goodies canning machine. Here’s what’s on offer: cold foam, cookie butter, Bueno, iced coffee, and matcha.

Gertie’s Goodies didn’t just appear out of thin air. It started years ago in Megan’s grandmother’s kitchen. It was there she learned the fine art of baking, hosting, and staging elaborate fairy picnics in the garden.

As the years ticked by, those childhood picnics evolved into premium cheese platters, and the business was born. At the heart of everything Megan does is the pure art of grazing. Think visually stunning, impossible-to-resist tables packed with top-tier cheeses, cured meats, fresh fruits, and artisan chocolates.

While the new storefront means easier access for Barossa locals and hungry tourists alike, Megan promised she isn’t losing her signature touch. The focus remains firmly on the handmade, small-batch approach that built her reputation in the first place.
