A young woman has disappeared in Pattaya after telling friends she was going to meet an ‘older foreigner’, just weeks after a WA man was accused of murdering 17-year teen Tunchanok Donhomla in the same city.

The missing woman, 17-year old Nong Tong, has been missing since Saturday after telling friends she was going to meet a man at a shopping mall in central Pattaya to watch a film.

In an interview with The Daily Mail, Ms Tong’s older sister said she was desperately trying to piece together her last known movements and identify the man she had gone to meet.

“We don’t know who she was meeting or where he was from,” Pinanong Lansettha told The Mail.

“I think she met him online through an app,” she continued.

After reporting Ms Tong’s disappearance to police, her family launched an appeal on social media urging anyone with information to come forward.

“I’m asking for your help in finding my younger sister,” Ms Lansettha wrote on Facebook.

“If any friends or family see her, please contact me. My sister has been missing for three days and I haven’t been able to contact her.

“None of her close friends or family have been able to reach her or see her. I’m very worried about her. Please help keep an eye out for her.”

The teen’s network of friends quickly flooded the comments section on the post, saying the disappearance was out of character.

“If anyone has seen her anywhere please report, she has disappeared strangely and I’m worried,” one wrote, while another added “She is not online and she normally talks to me every day”.

Ms Lansettha said her sister had not been able to find bar work in the city due to her age and had gone to meet a man she’d never met before, hours before she disappeared.

“She doesn’t work in the bars or the street, she is freelance and went to meet an older foreigner and I can’t contact her since then,” she told the publisher.

Ms Tong’s disappearance echoes the death of 17-year-old Tunchanok Donhomla, whose body was found stuffed inside a suitcase beside railway tracks in Pattaya in June.

Perth man Simon Peter Carman has been charged over her death and is currently being held at Pattaya Remand Prison.

Mr Carman allegedly met the teen on the street before taking her back to his condo, where he is accused of killing her.

He faces the death penalty or life imprisonment if convicted.

There is no suggestion Mr Carman is involved in this latest disappearance .
