For one of her latest outings, the actor turned to late designer Rohit Bal’s eponymous label for an ivory anarkali. The look also reinstates the neutral palette as a go-to for festive occasions, proving that ivory can hold its own against the jewel tones and saturated hues of the season that are both predictable and routine.

Crafted in matka and Chanderi silk, the floor-length anarkali is layered with tonal embroidery and intricate surface detailing. Its jacket-style construction gives way to a mandarin collar and a meticulous button closure on the front.. It is layered with a fitted bustier featuring dense resham embroidery in floral motifs that continue onto the sleeves. The high collar, sharp shoulders and full sleeves lend the otherwise fluid silhouette a tailored, androgynous edge. At the small of the waist, rows of pearl tassels add movement and definition before the jacket opens into a voluminous skirt. Tonal Chanderi stripes create subtle bands across the expansive skirt, layered with a diaphanous overlay that’s offset by larger floral motifs embroidered across the surface.
