South Boston Obituary: Eleanor M Feeney – Rest in peace, Nana Ellie

Back in 2024, Eleanor Feeney – also known as Nana Ellie celebrated her 97th St. Patrick’s Day Parade  surrounded by friends and family!  Nana Ellie proudly held a homemade sign announcing the fact. She was greeted by many parade participants, including Mayor Michelle Wu, Lt. Governor Kim Driscoll, Senator Nick Collins, City Councilor-At-Large Erin Murphy, and former City Councilor Frank Baker.

On February 18th, Nana Ellie passed way. Please keep your family in your thoughts.  Ellie was an inspiration for living your best life and she will be missed.  Her spirit lives on especially on St. Patrick’s Day.

Eleanor M Feeney – April 16, 1926 – February 18, 2026

Eleanor M. (O’Connor) Feeney of South Boston passed away on February 18, 2026. Beloved wife of the late James P. Feeney. Devoted mother of John Feeney and his wife Gail of Stoughton, James Feeney and his wife Karen of Marlboro and Claire Fullam and her husband Richard of Dorchester.

Loving grandmother of Jamie, Heather, Sean, James, Adam, Patrick, Shayla and Ryan. Cherished sister of the late Florence Cawley, Marie Hayden, John and Arthur O’Connor. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visitation in the O’Brien Funeral Home 146 Dorchester St South Boston on Tuesday February 24th from 4-8pm. Funeral Mass in Gate of Heaven Church 615 East Fourth Street South Boston on Wednesday February 25th at 10am.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester. Eleanor was active parishioner at Gate of Heaven and longtime member of the “Ollie”.
