The Sindh government has postponed the Sindh Pink Games due to severe heatwave conditions affecting the province.
According to the Sindh Sports Ministry, the Sindh Pink Games were scheduled to be held from May 8 to May 10 in Shaheed Benazirabad, also known as Nawabshah.
However, the sports associations had requested the postponement of the event because of the extreme weather conditions.
Around 1,500 athletes were expected to participate in 21 different sports during the games. The Sindh Sports Ministry said new dates for the event will be announced soon.
Meanwhile, hot and dry weather continues across most parts of the country, with several areas of Sindh and Balochistan experiencing intense heat.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said the temperature in Turbat is expected to reach 45 degrees Celsius, while temperatures in Mithi, Jacobabad, and Nawabshah could rise to 44 degrees Celsius.
Temperatures in Hyderabad, Sukkur, and Larkana are likely to reach 42 degrees Celsius.
In Karachi, temperatures have slightly droppe, however, the weather in the city is expected to remain hot and dry, with temperatures reaching up to 38 degrees Celsius, the Met Office stated.
