A Misfits Boxing event featuring high-profile crossover matches is set to take place in Doha, Qatar, on August 22, according to sources familiar with the plans.
The card is expected to feature two headline bouts that pair former elite soccer stars with combat sports personalities, continuing the promotion’s focus on entertainment-driven boxing events.
The reported main event will see former Spanish national team captain and World Cup winner Sergio Ramos face combat personality Andrew Tate in a professional boxing match. The bout is expected to be contested at a catchweight of approximately 220 pounds.
Ramos, now in his late 30s, is best known for his distinguished football career, including long spells at Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain. Tate, meanwhile, is a former kickboxer and controversial internet figure with prior experience in combat sports.
The co-main event is set to feature Swedish soccer legend Zlatan Ibrahimović, 44, against Tristan Tate, 37, who also has a background in kickboxing.
Both matchups reflect Misfits Boxing’s strategy of pairing globally recognized athletes with figures from outside traditional boxing to attract wide audience interest.
Misfits Boxing organizers have previously stated that the promotion is designed primarily as entertainment, aiming to appeal to both sports fans and general audiences. Events typically follow a professional boxing format, with six-round bouts contested under standard rules.
As of now, Misfits Boxing has not officially confirmed venue details, undercard lineups, or broadcast partners for the Doha event. A formal announcement with full fight information is expected in the coming weeks.
