Sara Ali Khan & Ayushmann Khurrana’s Anti Pakistani Film Heavily Criticized

Bollywood is one of the greatest film industries in the world. The industry has produced millions of hit movies ever since its inception. However, a major percentage of Bollywood movies have always been against Pakistan; building an anti-Pakistan narrative has always been their USP. Ever since the COVID outbreak, when people stopped visiting cinemas, they have made it their key trick to bring people back into the cinemas. Now, almost every year, Bollywood launches three to four anti-Pakistan movies in order to attract cinema audiences.

Recently, Sara Ali Khan’s film Udta Teer, also starring Ayushmann Khurrana, is scheduled to release in cinemas on 23rd October, following this same theme against Pakistan. Udta Teer is jointly produced by Karan Johar, Guneet Monga Kapoor, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, and Achin Jain under Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment.

Pakistanis are calling out Bollywood’s obsession with their country, viewing it as childish behavior from one of the world’s largest film industries. Social media users continue to react with both humor and sharp criticism aimed at Indian filmmakers. One social media user wrote, “We should sue Bollywood and ask them for royalties. After all, they are making money by using our name, our stories, and whatnot.” Another wrote, “Oh my god, I cannot understand their obsession with Pakistan. They have never accepted the fact that Pakistan is a separate homeland.” Another wrote, “Whenever their films flop and people stop coming to cinemas, they apply this formula of making an anti-Pakistan movie in order to get a few desh bhakt (patriotic) viewers to give them business.” One wrote, “We have only seen Bollywood winning wars in their movies—let them be happy doing that.” One fan jokingly wrote, “What if there was no Pakistan? Bollywood would have gone jobless.” Read the comments shared by Pakistanis.
