New details have emerged around popular Australian model Sahara Ray’s cause of death just hours after her family confirmed her sudden passing.
According to the Daily Mail, the 34-year-old was rushed to Los Angeles hospital after a fentanyl overdose and as her condition worsened, her family made the decision to switch her life support off.
Her mother, Gretchen Bach, told Daily Mail in a statement after her passing that Ray was “an incredibly passionate and kind young woman who loved her family, fashion, her daughter, Snow, and surfing.”

The Australian model, daughter of well-known Australian surfer Tony Ray, gave birth her first child, Snow, in January this year.
Her final post on Instagram was a touching tribute to her first child on July 20, captioned “My whole heart 🤍 baby Snow”.
Ray rose to prominence through her modelling career and founded a swimwear line, Sahara Ray Swim, in 2014.
In 2016, Ray had a short fling with Canadian singer Justin Bieber and was famously caught by the paparazzi enjoying a skinny dipping session with him in Hawaii.
She was also linked to Australian singer Cody Simpson in 2015.
