The suspect allegedly hit the victim with his vehicle, leaving them in critical condition, after the two had an argument.

A Roxbury man was arrested Friday after turning himself in to police for allegedly hitting a pedestrian with his vehicle the night before, according to Boston police.

Luis Serrano, 28, was wanted on a warrant out of Charlestown District Court for assault to kill, the Boston Police Department said in a press release. At about 9:15 p.m. Friday, he surrendered himself to detectives in downtown Boston and was arrested, the department said.

Shortly after 7 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to the area of 161 Bunker Hill St. in Charlestown for a radio call about a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. When they arrived, they found that the vehicle had crashed through a fence and was stuck, according to police.

Emergency responders transported the victim, who was in critical condition, to a local hospital. The driver had fled the scene, but detectives learned that the victim and suspect had had an argument before the incident, the department wrote.

The suspect, later learned to be Serrano, was also cited for reckless operation of a motor vehicle and leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident resulting in injury, according to police. He is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.

Attorney information for Serrano was not publicly available Sunday afternoon.

Authorities have not publicly identified the victim or provided an update on their condition as of Sunday afternoon. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
