Rory McIlroy has topped the tax bill for golfers from majors in 2026 as the Masters winner forked out an extortionate fee.
The Northern Irishman made the cut in every major this year, finishing seventh in the PGA Championship, 32nd in the US Open and 40th in The Open at Royal Birkdale.
With these finishes and the win at Augusta, McIlroy is understood to have taken home £3,966,452 in prize money from the majors.
His estimated tax bill came to a staggering £1,634,840, according to analysis by golfclubs4cash.
McIlroy is one of six players to have a forecasted figure in the millions, with US Open winner Wyndham Clark understood to be paying £1,630,278.
Scottie Scheffler, who did not win one of the four majors, is estimated to pay £1,439,988.
The other three who are paying a seven-figure sum include Sam Burns, PGA Championship winner Aaron Rai and The Open champion, Ryan Fox.
Cameron Young, who finished runner-up at The Open, is forecast to pay £993,252.

Young came incredibly close to winning his first major championship at Royal Birkdale but missed out to Fox, who produced a fantastic birdie on the last.
The New Zealander recorded a 68 in round four to beat Young by one stroke after the American shot a 64.
Fox’s last hole saw him strike an incredible drive on 18; the 39-year-old then hit his approach shot inside 12 feet.
The 39-year-old sank his putt as he became the second Open winner from New Zealand since Bob Charles in 1963.

Speaking after winning The Open, Fox said: “Wow! I don’t really know what to think at the moment! I’ve got a lot of people to thank.
“First of all, my family. My wife and kids are in Florida at the moment.
“I spoke to my kids last night, and they told me to bring back a trophy. I think this is a pretty cool one to bring back for them!
“My nerves are all over the place, I’m not sure how I hit that putt on 18.

“It’s a dream come true looking at this trophy right now – it’s the first time I’ve seen it close up and it’s pretty amazing.
“I played really solid early and then hit some great shots down the stretch.
