Ronnie O’Sullivan has made an honest admission about how he copes with the “frustrating part of snooker”.
The Rocket, 50, has been in action at the China Open, set to face Noppon Saengkham after the world No45 stunned Judd Trump in round one.
The seven-time world snooker champion explained his fitness routine helps him deal with some parts of snooker.
O’Sullivan is known for being a keen runner and was spotted riding around the city of Taiyuan on a small bicycle.
Speaking about how he looks after himself and how it benefits his snooker, he said: “I just want to be healthy. I think it’s very important to be healthy. So I like to run and go to the gym.
“I have a big appetite. If I didn’t exercise, I’d probably be double the size that I am.
“For me, I’ve been so up and down with my snooker over the years that I’ve had to find a distraction, if you like, from the disappointment and frustrations of snooker.
“Just to try and have a happy life. And if it’s not so much fun on the table, at least you can handle it.”

O’Sullivan continued: “Sometimes this game can be such an easy game. On other days it can be really difficult. And that’s the frustrating part about snooker.
“So I think if you have some hobbies that you enjoy, the disappointment of snooker doesn’t take your life over.”
The Rocket previously shared that he feels his time for a record-breaking eighth world title is running out, suggesting that he only has a couple of goes left.
“I have two attempts at it. If I can find a bit of cueing or some form at Sheffield, you never know.

“If I don’t do it this year or the next, it will definitely never happen,” he told the World Snooker Tour.
The Rocket may have to go through qualifying to reach the World Championships, but the 50-year-old has ruled that out.
He said: “I’m not going to play qualifiers. You won’t be seeing me go down to Barnsley trying to win qualifying matches and all that sort of stuff.

“If that happens, then obviously that’s the end of my career. But hopefully, I can keep going for at least another two seasons.
“I’m happy with my career and how things have gone. I want to enjoy these next two years.
“I’ll reassess in 2028, and if things are really going well, you can maybe extend it.”
