Dorinda Medley, a former star of Bravo’s “Real Housewives of New York City,” is selling a portion of Bluestone Manor, her famed Berkshires estate.
Medley, 61, skyrocketed to fame on the hit Bravo series thanks to trademark phrases like “I cooked all day! I decorated! I did it nice!” — which was in reference to her stunning Great Barrington home, Bluestone Manor. The Gilded Age Tudor-style estate served as a venue for plenty of drama between the ladies on the series, and Medley is now selling off 3.7 acres of buildable land on the property for $1.2 million.

Featuring its own private entrance, West Sheffield Road Lot 2 has rolling meadows, mature woodlands, and sweeping mountain vistas. Its prime location combines the solitude of a natural landscape, which is surrounded by conservation land, and proximity to Great Barrington’s cultural institutions and downtown.
“The land is spectacular. It’s open meadowland. It’s flat. It’s gorgeous and private. It sits quite high,” said Shelly Tretter Lynch of Compass, who has the listing. “She could have divided that property a million different ways, and she chose to preserve the integrity of the site.”
As to why she’s breaking off a piece of her storied estate, Tretter Lynch said that Medley could downsize and “carve away without it affecting her lifestyle.”
Medley herself noted that as she gets her estate in order, she doesn’t need all the land anymore.

“I thought to myself, ‘Why do I need 20 acres?” Medley told PEOPLE. “I’d been happy with nine! Now I found out I owned 19 and a half! It just felt excessive. And I thought to myself, ‘I don’t want to pay all these taxes on this land I’m not even using.’ It felt wasteful, because the land I own is so far away from the house. I don’t use the land like they did when the home was first built. It isn’t necessarily for the property anymore.”
Last year, Medley gave viewers a video tour the palatial 1902 spread, which her late husband Richard purchased in 2005. The portion of the property she’s keeping features everything from a maze to cornfields. The sale of the land will allow anyone looking for the peace and solitude of the Berkshires to, as Medley would say, “do it nice.”
