Renowned singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan will perform at the Pakistan Super League (PSL) team auctions, scheduled for January 8 at the Jinnah Convention Centre. Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is currently one of the judges of Pakistan Idol.
The auction is being held for the sale of two new PSL franchises. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed that it received 12 proposals from interested investors and has approved 10 bidders after completing the technical evaluation process.
According to the PCB, the approved bidders include investors from the United States, Australia, Canada, the United Arab Emirates, and Pakistan. These shortlisted bidders will now compete for ownership of the two new PSL teams during the auction in Islamabad.
The newly appointed PSL brand ambassador, Wasim Akram, will serve as the auctioneer for the event.
Successful bidders will be given the opportunity to select their franchise locations from a list of cities that includes Rawalpindi, Hyderabad, Faisalabad, Gilgit, Muzaffarabad, and Sialkot.
Separately, the PCB is also considering starting the upcoming PSL season on March 23 instead of March 26. A final decision on the tournament schedule will be made after consultation with all franchises.
