Punjab Expands Pharmacy Cadre with 959 New Jobs Approved

The Punjab Government has approved a major restructuring of the pharmacy cadre across the province, including the creation of 959 new posts to strengthen healthcare services.

According to the Punjab Finance Department, the total number of pharmacy cadre positions has been increased to 1,518 following the reorganization and expansion.

Under the new structure, posts from Grade 17 to Grade 20 have been revised, with an increase in key positions such as Chief Drug Controllers, Drug Controllers, and Directors Technical.

The number of Grade 18 Deputy Drug Controller positions has been raised to 234, while 897 new Grade 17 pharmacist posts have also been approved.

Officials said the newly created positions will support drug testing laboratories and improve pharmacy services in hospitals across the province.

The Finance Department has directed relevant authorities to complete verification and audit processes at the earliest to ensure the timely implementation of the new structure.

The move aims to enhance regulatory oversight, improve drug safety standards, and strengthen healthcare delivery in Punjab.
