Ronaldo played in an incredible six World Cups, featuring this summer as Portugal reached the round of 16, before being knocked out by eventual winners Spain.
The 41-year-old won the European Championship with Portugal in 2016 and the Nations League in 2019.
He became Portugal’s record goalscorer, scoring 146 goals in 234 appearances.
He is just 15 goals away from a historic 1,000 career-goal milestone, which he can now only achieve with his club, Al-Nassr, in Saudi Arabia.
