Pooja Hegde reached for another tissue sari, perpetuating the lustrous textile’s status as a festive season favourite. This time, the actor chose a gold creation from Mumbai-based designer Arpita Mehta’s namesake label. With timeless gold jewellery and juttis, her outfit makes for an easy-to-recreate template for anyone planning a celebratory closet.
According to the designer, Hegde’s classic gold tissue sari features a recurring paisley-shaped border embellished with mirrors and intricately embroidered with cutdana embroidery “which adds a subtle shimmer to the ensemble”. The metallic, crinkled textile exudes liquid sheen, which is characteristic of tissue’s distinctive texture. Cut with a deep V neckline, the cap-sleeved blouse features matching hand embroidery and tassel detailing along the sleeve hems. “The look brings together timeless elegance and our signature mirror-work craftsmanship,” shares Mehta. It is a reminder that a simple sari can look head-turning when the blouse does the heavy lifting.

Stylist Garima Garg accessorised the actor’s look in a minimal-yet-impactful way. She leaned on temple jewellery to complete Hegde’s look by pairing a statement set of earrings with a stack of mixed and matched kadas that moved between polki, temple and gajra styles. Hegde’s short hair was left open in loose waves, while soft metallic tones on the eyes and lips kept the makeup in step with the sari. Gold juttis from accessories label Fizzy Goblet rounded off the gilded sari look..
A tissue sari remains one of the most dependable pieces an occasion wear wardrobe can hold. It travels easily from a festive puja to a wedding on the social calendar. To restyle it, swap the embellished blouse for a plain velvet or raw silk one in deep maroon or emerald for a pared-down appeal, or drape it over a structured corset blouse for a sharper, more modern take. Add a polki choker and a sleek low bun for evening. Either way, it is a no-effort ceremonial look.
