Plea to raise upper age limit for govt. jobs by 10 years

HYDERABAD

A proposal to enhance the upper age limit for government job aspirants by 10 years has been placed before the State government amid concerns over prolonged gaps in recruitment by Congress MLC M. Kodandaram and Government Whip Addanki Dayakar.

The duo has submitted representations to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka separately, urging the government to consider a one-time relaxation across upcoming notifications to address the issue and provide opportunities to affected candidates.

In their representations, they pointed out the absence of job notifications during the Telangana movement and the subsequent delay in recruitment in the years following State formation. The prolonged gap has resulted in many candidates exceeding the prescribed age limit, leaving them ineligible for government jobs, they said.

Responding to the appeal, Mr. Vikramarka is learnt to have discussed the matter and indicated that it would be examined in consultation with the Chief Minister and the departments concerned.
