Pitbull attack in Sonipat, stray dog bite in Jalna leave two children injured

A six-month-old infant was seriously injured after a Pitbull attacked him in Haryana’s Sonipat, while a stray dog left a two-year-old girl with a severe cheek injury in Maharashtra’s Jalna. The two incidents have raised fresh concerns over the safety of children amid dog attacks.

The Pitbull incident took place in Haryana’s Sikka Colony when the infant was being taken through the street by his aunt. The Pitbull suddenly ran towards the child and grabbed him. The aunt tried to rescue the infant, but the dog attacked her as well.

The infant suffered severe injuries in the attack. His family immediately took him to hospital, following which he was referred to Rohtak government hospital given the seriousness of his condition. He is currently undergoing treatment there.

CCTV CAPTURES PITBULL ATTACK

The CCTV footage shows the Pitbull lunging at the infant and grabbing him. The dog can also be seen attacking repeatedly, while the child’s aunt attempts to intervene and save him.

The incident has caused panic among residents of the area and raised questions about how a dangerous breed such as a Pitbull was being kept in the locality and whether the necessary regulations were being followed.

Questions have also been raised about the responsibility of the dog’s owner and whether negligence played a role in the incident. However, the family has not yet filed a formal written complaint with the police.

For now, the six-month-old remains under treatment at Rohtak PGI.

STRAY DOG ATTACKS 2-YEAR-OLD IN MAHARASHTRA

In a separate incident in Maharashtra’s Jalna, a stray dog attacked a two-year-old girl in the National Nagar area of Gitanjali Colony, leaving her with a severe injury to her cheek.

The girl was reportedly inside her house when the stray dog entered and dragged her outside. The dog then bit her on the cheek, causing a serious injury.

Local residents rushed the child to the District General Hospital in Jalna, where she is undergoing treatment.

The incident has renewed concerns among residents over the rising stray dog population in several parts of Jalna city. Locals have raised concerns about the safety of children and other residents and demanded that the municipal administration take immediate measures to address the stray dog menace.
