Patriots secondary gets more bad news as Christian Gonzalez misses second straight practice

The Patriots’ secondary depth remains in question this week as Christian Gonzalez (shoulder) and Carlton Davis (neck) each missed their second consecutive practice.

New England held Buffalo’s Josh Allen to 253 yards, a touchdown, and an interception without Gonzalez last Sunday. Davis had missed the Week 2 win against Pittsburgh with a neck injury, but was able to play against Jacksonville and Buffalo.

Wide receiver Mack Hollins (calf), who leads the team in catches with 15, remained out. Fullback Reggie Gilliam (ankle/knee), and rookie cornerback Karon Prunty (hamstring) were also out on Thursday.

Safety Brenden Schooler (back) was a full participant, but is not yet eligible to return to game action after beginning the season on the NFI list.

Running back Rhamondre Stevenson was spotted during the media access portion of practice on Thursday He was listed as limited both Wednesday and Thursday.

Offensive lineman Morgan Moses (foot), linebacker Christian Elliss (chest), cornerback Channing Canada (hamstring), cornerback Charles Woods (shoulder), safety Craig Woodson (shoulder), defensive lineman Christian Barmore (shoulder), and linebacker Dre’Mont Jones were also limited participants.

The Patriots host the Raiders on Sunday at Gillette Stadium. Las Vegas receiver Jalen Nailor was out on Thursday with a concussion. Offensive lineman Spencer Burford, (Knee), running back Ashton Jeanty (Ankle), wide receiver Cody White (Ankle) and offensive guard Trey Zuhn (knee) were limited.
