Pakistan’s batters once again failed to deliver in Birmingham, with seven players back in the pavilion for just 100 runs in the first innings of the third and final Test against England.
Pakistan have scored 100 runs in 23 overs, with Saud Shakeel unbeaten on 37 and Razaullah on 11 at the crease.
For Pakistan, Saim Ayub was dismissed for a duck, while Azaan Awais scored 9, Abdullah Shafique 3, Shan Masood 5, captain Babar Azam 7, Ghazi Ghori 4 and Mohammad Imran 5.
England’s Olly Robinson and Jofra Archer took two wickets each, while Josh Tong claimed three, giving none of the Pakistani batters much opportunity to settle at the crease apart from Saud Shakeel.
Pakistan have handed Test debuts to three players in the final match of the series. Wicketkeeper Ghazi Ghori, fast bowler Razaullah and Imran Randhawa have been included in the playing XI.
Saud Shakeel presented Ghazi Ghori with his Test cap, while Mohammad Abbas handed the cap to Razaullah and Babar Azam presented one to Imran Randhawa.
The Pakistan team also includes Saim Ayub, Azaan Awais, Abdullah Shafique, Babar Azam, Shan Masood, Saud Shakeel and Mohammad Ali.
Pakistan lost the first Test by an innings and 103 runs and suffered a heavy 194-run defeat in the second Test.
