“raggedy rocks”
Be cliff, not river.
Let tempestuous thought arrive;
Cling to outrage’s every jagged edge.
Pursue until each thundering echo
becomes
a turbulent measure of your worth.
As worry carves canyons on pillaged mind.
Let desire lash itself against white caps.
Until soul becomes an ill-climed ocean,
Always breaking, forever broken,
never content to merely be.
Let stillness offer no applause,
and a peace that can’t be possessed.
So hurl yourself against these rocks
again,
and mistake the crashing
for vital music.
