Officials of the Krishna Bhagya Jala Nigama Limited (KBJNL) released water into Krishna river from Basavasagar reservoir at Narayanapur in Shorapur taluk of Yadgir district.
According to official reports, on Thursday, they released 1.11 lakh cusecs of water into the river from the reservoir when the inflow to the reservoir was 95,043 cusecs.
The present water level in the reservoir stood at 491.55 m against the full reservoir level of 492.25 m.
The Yadgir district administration, following the present outflow from the reservoir, issued an alert notice to the residents of downstream villages of Krishna basin.
Usually, the administration would alert people preventing them from venturing into the river for any reason, including fishing, and watering animals, whenever the outflow increases.
