NINE unveils OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES MILANO CORTINA 2026 coverage details

With 50 days until the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026, Nine has mapped out how Australians will be able to follow every icy twist and turn across 9Network, 9Now and Stan Sport, promising viewers access to coverage across all screens, at home or on the go.

As the countdown to the Northern Italy event speeds up, Nine says it is preparing its most wide-ranging Winter Olympics offering yet, combining traditional broadcast with expansive streaming options aimed at reaching fans wherever they choose to watch.

“Milano Cortina 2026 will showcase the full power of Nine’s ecosystem – with Stan Sport delivering every minute of every sport, live and on demand, no matter which country you support, including all medal moments in stunning 4K Ultra HD.

The 9Network will bring the biggest moments for our Aussie athletes live and free to the nation, while 9Now ensures audiences can relive those moments anytime with on-demand access and discovery.

Together, we’re giving Australians the freedom to experience the Winter Olympics their way.”

From the mountains of Livigno to arenas in Milan and Cortina, Nine says its coverage will highlight Australian stories while also tapping into the broader international picture that surrounds the Games.

The network’s build-up begins on 4 February 2026 with the preview special Let The Games Begin!, leading into the Opening Ceremony on 7 February (AEDT) and more than two weeks of competition.

9Network: Live and Free for Australian Viewers

With Australia expected to send a squad of almost 60 athletes, the free-to-air coverage will be anchored by Ally Langdon and James Bracey from Nine’s alpine studio in Livigno. They’ll be joined by Leila McKinnon and Todd Woodbridge, while Sylvia Jeffreys and Dylan Alcott front morning coverage from Sydney.

Reporting teams will file stories from across the host cities, with broadcast coverage available on 9HD and 9GemHD.

9Now: Stream Live or Catch Up Anytime

9Now will carry every moment from the 9Network feed, both live and on demand. Morning audiences can expect a wrap-up of overnight results, replays of key events and highlights packages, including the daily round-up Milan Encore produced by the Wide World of Sports team.

Stan Sport: A Deep Dive into Every Discipline

According to Nine, Stan Sport will provide the most extensive Winter Olympics coverage it has offered, showing every sport and every feed live and on demand, with all medal events in 4K Ultra HD. Coverage spans 16 disciplines and 116 medal events, with 15 dedicated sport channels plus two feature and news channels supplying rolling updates and analysis.

Stan Sport will again incorporate international broadcasts, including feeds from Eurosport’s Italian channels, a UK channel provided by Warner Brothers Discovery, and coverage from Sky New Zealand, along with simulcasts of 9Network programming.
