Nick Chubb reveals fans’ gesture that got him through injury rehab

With the Cleveland Browns in the midst of minicamp, preparing for the 2026 season, the latest comments from running back Nick Chubb put into perspective the impact a fanbase can have on a player. As the Browns head into the 2026 season, Chubb reflected on his time interacting with the fans of the team.

While not with any NFL team at the moment, Chubb had a productive career with Cleveland. He spent the first seven seasons with the franchise, recording over 1,000 rushing yards in four of them. Despite some successes, he also dealt with a ton of injuries, such as an MCL sprain in 2020, a grueling ACL injury in 2023, and a broken foot in 2024.

Going through those injuries could mentally impact anyone, but Chubb speaks on how the city helped him throughout the process.

“The mental aspect of it, I mean, just the support of the city of Cleveland,” Chubb said, via Camryn Justice. “I mean I have closets full of notes and letters from schools, people from me, fans from all across the world, you know, I still have it all packed up, and I mean, just tremendous support and love from everyone, and obviously the medical staff, obviously the Browns, my teammates, my family, you know, all just support from everywhere, that gives you an edge to want to go and not only get back for yourself, but for everyone who supported me.”

Chubb last played with the Houston Texans in 2025, where he played 15 games, the most he’s played since 2022. He is currently not signed to a team as it remains to be seen what his football future looks like.
