Newcastle Jets crowned 2025-26 Isuzu UTE A-League Premiers

The Newcastle Jets have won the 2025-26 Isuzu UTE A-League Premiers Plate for the first time in the club’s history, capping off an incredible regular season for Mark Milligan’s men.

The Premiership, the club’s first-ever and first piece of A-Leagues’ silverware since the 2008 Championship, was won in the penultimate round of the season thanks to their 2-2 draw with Melbourne Victory and the Central Coast Mariners’ 1-0 win over second-placed Auckland FC.

The Premier’s Plate triumph also secures the Jets a Semi-Final place, in their first Finals appearance since they hosted the Isuzu UTE A-League Grand Final in 2018, and a spot in the lucrative AFC Champions League Elite for season 2026-27.

It will be the Jets first appearance in Asian football’s premier continental competition, and their second foray into Asia after competing in the AFC Champions League during the 2008-09 season.

The Jets also keep alive hopes of an historic domestic treble having already won the 2025 Australia Cup.

It’s been a record-breaking season for the Jets, who under the leadership of Milligan in his debut season as senior coach, have taken Newcastle to their highest ever league finish, delivered their longest unbeaten run (10 games) and longest winning streak (8 games) with the league’s youngest squad.

“They’ve been the stand-out side all season, and congratulations to all involved at the club on their first-ever Premiership.

“The club has built great momentum on and off the field this season – a historic unbeaten run and record crowds – and we look forward to seeing if they can make more history in the Isuzu UTE A-League 2026 Finals Series.”

The Isuzu UTE A-League 2026 Finals Series kicks off on the weekend of 1-3 of May.
