Netflix is turning its attention to one of the biggest viral moments to emerge from the Paris Olympic Games, revisiting the performance that propelled Australian breakdancer Rachael “Raygun” Gunn into the global spotlight.
The latest instalment of the streamer’s Untold documentary series promises to go beyond the headlines, exploring the events before and after the routine that became one of the year’s most talked about sporting stories.
Untold: Raygun: Breaking Badly follows Gunn’s journey from an academic with a passion for breaking to representing Australia on sport’s biggest sporting stage, before examining the intense scrutiny that followed her appearance at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Featuring interviews with Gunn, her family, coach and those closest to her, the documentary explores how her performance became a global talking point, fuelled by memes, misinformation and conspiracy theories, while giving the Olympian the opportunity to tell her story in her own words.

Netflix says the film also examines the lasting impact of the controversy, documenting Gunn’s efforts to reclaim her narrative after becoming one of the most recognisable and discussed figures to emerge from the Games.
The project was made with Gunn’s involvement, with her management company, Born Bred Talent, revealing it played a role in bringing the documentary to life.
The agency’s Managing Director, Stephanie Scicchitano, also serves as an executive producer alongside Netflix, Warner Bros. International Television Production Australia and Stardust Frames.
In announcing the documentary, Born Bred Talent said it was proud Gunn had been given the opportunity to share her story “in her own words“.
Directed by Shianne Brown, Untold: Raygun: Breaking Badly is the latest instalment in Netflix’s long-running Untold anthology, which has previously explored some of sport’s biggest controversies, scandals and defining moments.
Untold: Raygun: Breaking Badly premieres globally on 1 September.
