Nauman Masood is a seasoned Pakistani TV actor who rose to fame through his debut drama serial Shahbaz, which aired on PTV. His major claim-to-fame project was the PTV drama serial Bandhan. His other notable dramas include Neend, Baandi, Jafaa, Meri Shehzadi, and others. Nauman Masood is also a restaurant owner who runs the well-known Khaaba by Nauman Masood in Islamabad.
Recently, the actor made a video about the early closure of markets and restaurants, which is affecting businesses in Pakistan and forcing affected people to live hand to mouth.
In his video, Nauman Masood said, “My name is Nauman Masood. I am an actor, a producer, and I run a small restaurant named Khaaba by Nauman Masood. Normally, when I make videos, I am excited, but today I am worried because this is a bigger concern for many others. I am talking about restaurants. For the past two months, since this situation, we have been facing many issues. We are supporting our government; everywhere it is the same situation—fuel prices are increasing, inflation is rising, and everything is going up. Nowadays, it is summer, and families usually return home by 5 pm or even later. They freshen up and leave home by 9 pm to go out. Believe me, in Pakistan, we have very limited family entertainment—mainly coffee shops and restaurants. Besides this, all restaurants, big or small, have staff, but ever since these time restrictions have been imposed, we, the restaurant owners, have been suffering. Amidst this, inflation is peaking. We are worried, and our employees are worried. Previously, we used to resolve their issues, but nowadays we are barely managing their salaries. We are just surviving. So, my request to the government is to please extend the timings of restaurants so that we can manage. I don’t know if my request will be heard or not, but please consider it.” Watch here.
