All occupants were able to evacuate the bus safely, fire officials said.

“The bus driver was pretty quick and able to move everyone off,” Captain Damien Savin told Boston.com. “No reported injuries, and no one taken to the hospital.”

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Savin said it appears the blaze originated in the wheel area of the bus, though the cause has not been officially confirmed.

Travelers have been advised to anticipate major traffic delays as emergency responders continue to work on the area.

“Please use caution if traveling through the area, slow down, move over for emergency vehicles, and consider seeking an alternate route if possible,” fire officials wrote on Facebook.
