A massive crane overturned onto a ship, vessel Vienna, and caught fire during cargo unloading operations at the BPS port under Mumbai Port Trust. The incident occurred when a sling attached to a 140 metric ton cargo lost balance, causing the telescopic boom of a crane operated by Barkat Company to hit the vessel and ignite due to friction. Two crane operators, Ranjit Singh and Nishant Singh, sustained injuries and were taken to St. George Hospital for treatment. The Mumbai Port Fire Brigade responded to the spot. Mumbai Police has launched a probe into the incident in coordination with the port authority, and no casualties have been reported.
