Mason Graham made history after recording two sacks in the Cleveland Browns’ 21-18 win over the Carolina Panthers.
Cleveland Browns defensive tackle Mason Graham has opened his second NFL season with a level of pass-rushing consistency the team hasn’t witnessed in quite a few years. With two sacks in Cleveland’s 21-18 win over the Carolina Panthers Sunday, the 23-year-old became the first Browns defender since Myles Garrett in 2019 to record at least one sack in each of the team’s first three games.
Graham also became the first defensive tackle to accomplish that feat since Akiem Hicks did it for the Chicago Bears in 2020. He has now accumulated four sacks through three games.
As a defensive tackle, Graham’s responsibilities include working against guards and centers. Cleveland selected him fifth overall in the 2025 NFL Draft out of Michigan.
His performance against Carolina was his most productive of the young season. Graham finished with two sacks and three tackles for loss, including a fourth-down sack of Young for a 10-yard loss in the second quarter. The stop ended a Panthers possession and allowed the Browns to take over before eventually adding a field goal.
Cleveland’s defense held Carolina to 18 points after the Panthers entered the game averaging 35.5 points per contest. The Browns also limited Carolina to a combined 4-of-18 on third and fourth downs, while the Panthers went 0-for-3 specifically on fourth down. Cleveland recorded three sacks overall.
Graham’s three-game sack streak has helped the Browns turn up the heat following the trade of Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams. Jared Verse, whom many expected to help fill that role, is still looking for his first sack.
Cleveland will next host the Pittsburgh Steelers on a short week Thursday night in a nationally televised AFC North showdown.
