In a major crackdown, the Commissioner’s Task Force (Jubilee Hills Zone), along with Banjara Hills police, arrested 10 persons for illegally stocking and selling LPG cylinders at inflated prices.
Acting on credible information, the police raided a location near a graveyard at Nagarjuna X Road in Banjara Hills on Sunday. The accused were caught red-handed allegedly dumping cylinders and selling them at higher rates.

During the operation, officials seized a total of 414 gas cylinders of various capacities, along with vehicles used for transportation. The seized property is estimated to be worth around Rs 21.88 lakh.
According to police, the prime accused, Mohd. Aamir, was operating a gas agency named “Metro Gas Agency.” Investigations revealed that he was not following prescribed norms and was instead storing cylinders at an open location and selling them for wrongful gain.
Police said the accused were exploiting the high demand for LPG. Supplies were diverted and sold on the black market at inflated prices, with the help of delivery personnel, drivers and labourers.
The seized items include commercial and domestic LPG cylinders (both full and empty). Vehicles such as DCM vans, Bolero, Tata Ace, Tata Intra, and multiple auto-rickshaws used for transportation were also confiscated.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of Jubilee Hills Zone Inspector Ch. Yadendar and SI D. Ravi Raj, in coordination with Banjara Hills police.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Task Force) Sri Gaikwad Vaibhav Raghunath, IPS, said strict action would be taken against those involved in the illegal sale and black marketing of essential commodities.
